Sandwiched between the ocean and the mountains lies the impoverished city of Raboto.  Pigs, goats and children forage through the garbage strewn beaches for food. Situated in the middle of this destitute community is a school for nearly 300 of the neighborhood children.

Founder Pastor Genada opened this primary school promising an education and a hot meal each day. This is something that their parents never dreamed possible.  Many of the children are restaveks (domestic servants) living in homes of other families because their parents cannot afford to raise them. Going to school and getting a nutritious meal is a dream come true for these children.

Every day brings new challenges to the school, but few are as great as coming up with the funds needed to renew their five year lease. The full amount was due June 1, 2018. Other than prayer, Pastor Grenada had no idea how he could come up with the $1,900 he needed to keep his school open. This amount is a king’s ransom in Haiti.

In April of 2018, All Children spent a day with the children in their classrooms. The children are grateful for every day they are able to come to school. They also get a nutritious meal that they could not count on getting at home. This is still possible thanks to All Children for funding the five year lease.

With your help even more children will be able to welcome a new day filled with possibilities. Dreams do come true.

Like all other children, Victor loves playing games and drawing on his iPad. He dreams of being an engineer someday. Maybe one day his dream will come true.

Victor was born with severe scoliosis that caused his spine to flatten and his ribcage to twist. Abandoned by his mother at birth he was placed with his aunt who was very poor. At the age of three Victor was sent out to beg in the streets where he was noticed by a pastor who took him in. But fate dealt Victor another blow. He came down with pneumonia and the pastor was unable to give him the care and medical attention that he needed. He brought Victor to Casa de Luz praying for their help.

He is loved, well cared for and thriving at Casa de Luz but his condition has worsened. Now at the young age of seven he has a rib hump which is squeezing his lungs and heart. Without the necessary three corrective surgeries this bright little boy would not see another birthday.

All Children met Victor in April of 2018 and immediately agreed to help fund his three surgeries. Victor had his first surgery early in May. The doctors were very pleased but Victor developed an infection. This brave little “tiger” fought through his difficulties and never stopped smiling at the nurses and doctors. Victor has his heart set on being a successful engineer one day and will fight to earn that opportunity.

Victor has two more operations scheduled in the coming months which have a high rate of success. Watch for further updates of this courageous little boy.

Jherwin was born on January 3, 2017 in a remote village in the Philippines. His parents noticed a small lump on his bottom which was the size of a quarter, but there was no hospital in this tiny village. With the support of their community, the family traveled by bus to Naga City to meet with a pediatric surgeon. The small fragile Jherwin needed surgery to remove the lump, but his impoverished parents could not afford to pay for the surgery even with help from their friends and family members. They returned home sad and disheartened.

In two short months, the aggressive lump grew to nearly the size of Jherwin’s head. In desperation Jherwin’s family returned to Naga City and sought help from Queen of Peace Orphanage. Without help and an operation the mass would continue to grow and Jherwin would be paralyzed.

All Children covered all of the costs related to Jherwin’s urgent surgery and recovery. On March 28, 2017 Jherwin successfully received the surgery that he so desperately needed.

Fast forward to March 2018 Jherwin returned to Queen of Peace for his first annual checkup. All Children’s field consultant Tanya Diaz reported that Jherwin’s improvement was amazing. He was very active at 15 months and was able to play with other children.

We will continue to monitor Jherwin’s progress each year and support his journey. Because we care, a child who faced certain paralysis is racing toward a life filled with possibilities.
